fs: 2001 VW Turbo Beetle - near Gaffney

Do you know anyone interested in buying a 2001 Volkswagen Turbo Beetle, 5 speed. It is in really rough shape inside and out, but has a Turbo engine that is super fast and powerful. Somebody could use it to race, for real. It hangs the road better than any car I have ever driven. It has leather heated seats and 5 disc player, but the handles are breaking on the doors, arm rests broken, etc.... But if you drive it, the engine power it has is amazing.

Kelley Blue Book says it's worth $2400...
> I was hoping to get some out of it to pay her college loans.

my sister has this, i could go buy it & bring it back to flip it, but,
do you guys have any idea what it is worth as it sits?

what it would be worth with some of the small things fixed?

this one for $1900 kinda sets the price point:

200,000 miles, Runs good. Single Owner Car

we may ride up there sometime, if someone wants it for ~$1700 or so, LMK, and I will bring it back.

I'd say they'd probably sell that one for $1500 easy, so yours would be more around $1k with all that damage everywhere.. Good luck man

You also have a limited niche for that car. No males, high miles, not diesel, might be tough to sell without taking a hit. The one you're looking at is real rough too. I personally would take a pass unless you could pick it up for next to nothing.

Sold this for $2,500 ...now it needed work done that the dealer quoted $1500 and could have used a new $1000 top...

Limited market..I had a bottom line of $2k without having the work done

In my honest opinion stay away from them...cost way more to fix than they are worth...

little bugger followed me home...she just gave it to me to sell for her, lets see what happens...

it was actually in MUCH better shape than she thought, and had only 129k miles....oh well.

ps. scuff that rust and prime it or somethin!

04ctd 01-24-2015 12:43 PM

Carl....you dont know HOW MUCH i want to start modding this thing!!!

hack the muffler off, do a homemade CAI!!

its quick for only having "4 cylinders of fury"

i think that rust covers the entire side, best leave it alone.
but really, you could fix that in your driveway for $50 or less.
sand, seal, prime, krylon
