We'll now have to meet at the Festival Center. North Charlestons finest said "we are blocking every exit next weekend and everyone's car inside will be towed".....that was said about SSS and Sams club so either Festival Center or somewhere in Summerville!

I guess the only thing is a group of people need to organize and go talk to head people with the city and see where they would allow people hanging out as long as stupid shit isn't done. It sure keeps people from doing alot worse things on the weekends.

I no longer hang out at sss, fc and the old sams club. But quite frankly, there needs to be a place for doing so. But than again, I guess the people doing the dumb shit in the parking lots just need to get their ass beat. I remember awhile back when I had the mustang I believe there was people racing in the old sams parking lot and I drove there and parked right in front of them as they were lining up to race again. Stopped that shit that night.

People need to grow some nuts and let the punk bitches that they aren't cool and instead causing more and more places not to allow people just hanging out bs and doing nothing harmful or even productive.

Someone needs to contact the county/state about this then take it to the local news stations.

very true but NCPD needs to get their shit together. One weekend the cops will say "what yall doin? Everyone sober and not being loud? Ok, have a good time and be safe" the next weekend its "what is your reason for being here? You have 2 minutes to get gone" Ive asked NCPD where to go and they said Sams was the best bet but just keep it quiet and dont trash it. Any time I try to talk to the officers asking us to leave, theyre like "we said get in your car and leave. There's nothing to discuss." and bs like that. Its usually the officers that have partners in car. I guess theyre showing off for the ride alongs or rookies that are in the car with em. Its just BS. When were there, no one does anything stupid anymore. You have your occasional dumbass come hauling ass through the parking lot, but they dont stop, they are just being dumb and leaving. No one that actually stays there does dumb shit anymore, but NCPD doesnt care.

We all know that the innocent "car crowd" is waaaay more important than robberies, drunk drivers, thiefs, drugs, and murderers so I guess they have a goooood point....or not.

I agree Brandon. Car enthusiasts are the meanest, baddest mother fawkers out there especially when compared to all the drunk drivers, and other crimes in the area.

Goose Creek and North Charleston must have some personally endeavor against car/truck guys for some strange reason. I think next weekend I will be driving the black truck everywhere and see how many fines I can get.Since it isn't on stock wheels, stock hood, or stock seats. And it even has loud mufflers on it. hahaha

I just found out that some family members of mine know the police chief. I am going to give him a call tomorrow and discuss the issue with him. As far as being allowed to be there, do we have any permission from the property owners of SSS or Sams to be out there? If he disagrees with everything then I will ask him what his solution would be. I will post up a number for you guys to call if yall would like to help out.

I dont see signs posted saying to not be there and its public property IMO. A random person can shop at SSS, so why cant we socialize after their hours. The tow truck guy from Sams told us the owner didnt mind as long as we kept it clean and didnt act up so I dunno.

Alright well I will jump this off if yall help out. I will give him a call tomorrow and mention the fact that there is no visible signs telling us we can't meet and that we were told by a some what reliable source that the owners of the old sams property did not mind us being there as long as we were respectful towards their property. I will also see what he thinks is a "reasonable" solution from here on out.

I just don't understand why they don't have anything better to do. If they are worried about racing then just sit across the street and follow the groups as they leave. We are all doing alot less harm in a parking lot than out on the highways... I am almost temped to go up there in my truck and see if they want to impound next weekend. I'm sure they would love a bone stock 1500.

There are signs posted stating that the police have jurisdictions over parking lots. AND loitering is not allowed in parking lots. Matt, I wouldn't say anything about any signs not being posted. They usually are posted all over the light poles. i would do surveillance over the entire parking lot to verify your information first.

Ive never seen a sign, so they must not be too visible.

You might want to familiarize yourself with the ordinance before you call Chief Zumalt:

Sec. 13-40. Loitering.

(a) Loitering. No person shall loiter or prowl in a place or in a manner not usual for law-abiding individuals under circumstances that warrant alarm for the safety of persons or property in the vicinity. Among the circumstances which may be considered in determining whether such alarm is warranted is the fact that the actor takes flight upon the appearance of a police officer, refuses to identify himself or manifestly endeavors to conceal himself or any object. Unless flight by the actor or other circumstance makes it impracticable, a police officer, prior to the arrest for an offense under this subsection, shall afford the actor an opportunity to dispel any alarm which would otherwise be warranted by requesting him to identify himself and explain his presence and conduct. No person shall be convicted of violating this subsection if the police officer did not comply with the preceding sentence or if it appears at trial that the explanation given was true and would have dispelled the alarm and disclosed the lawful purpose.
The provisions of the two (2) preceding sentences are applicable to this paragraph (a) and each of the subsequent paragraphs (b) through (h) herein.
(b) Dwelling areas. No person shall hide, wait, or otherwise loiter in the vicinity of any private dwelling, house, apartment building or any other place of residence with the unlawful intent to watch, gaze, or look upon the occupants therein in a clandestine manner.
(c) Public rest rooms. No person shall loiter in or about any toilet open to the public for the purpose of engaging in or soliciting any lewd of lascivious or any unlawful act.
(d) Schools and public grounds. No person shall loiter in or about any school or public place at or near which children or students attend or normally congregate. As used in this subsection, "loiter" means to delay, to linger, or to idle in or about any said school or public place without a lawful purpose for being present.
(e) Buildings. No person shall loiter, lodge in any building, structure, or place, whether public or private, without the permission of the owner of person entitled to possession or control thereof.
(f) Restaurants, taverns. No person shall loiter in or about a restaurant, tavern or other building open to the public. As used in this subsection, "loiter" means to, without just cause, remain in a restaurant, tavern, or public building or to remain upon the property immediately adjacent thereto after being asked to leave by the owner or person entitled to possession or in control thereof.
(g) Parking lots. No person shall loiter in or upon any public parking surface lot or public parking structure, either on foot or in or upon any conveyance being driven or parked thereon, without the permission of the owner or person entitled to possession of in control thereof. As used in this subsection:
(1) "Public parking structure" means a building enclosure or garage above or under the ground, or any portion thereof, in which automobiles or motor vehicles may be parked, stored, housed or kept, open to the public use with or without charge.
(2) "Public parking surface lot" means five (5) or more ground level parking spaces, or any portion thereof, in which automobiles or motor vehicles may be parked, stored, housed or kept, open to public use with or without charge.
(h) Private or public residential property. No person shall loiter in or on private or public residential property in residential neighborhoods. As used in this subsection, "loiter" means to, without just cause, linger, remain in or on private or public residential property, or to remain upon the property immediately adjacent thereto after being asked to leave by the owner or person entitled to possession or in control thereof, or where "No Loitering" signs are posted.
(i) Requirements of identification. A person being asked for identification pursuant to this section shall provide the police officer with his name and address either verbally or by providing the officer with written evidence or the person's name and address, including but not limited to, a driver's license or picture identification.
(j) Penalty; continuing violations. Any person who is convicted of any violation of this section, the court before whom the offender shall be tried may sentence him to pay a fine not exceeding the maximum fine permitted by law or serve a term not exceeding thirty (30) days in jail, or both. Each day any violation of this ordinance occurs shall constitute a separate offense.
(k) Court order on jurisdictional limits. In addition to the penalty that may be imposed pursuant to subsection (j) above who is arrested for and/or is convicted of violating any provision of this section may be subject to an order of the court which shall impose a jurisdictional limit on said person prohibiting his presence in a specific geographic area of the City of North Charleston. Failure to comply with the court order shall constitute a violation of the court order and shall result in the following:
(1) In the case of a bond where jurisdictional limits have been imposed, the bond may be revoked and the person shall be incarcerated until trial; and/or
(2) In the case of a sentence where jurisdictional limits have been imposed, the suspended sentence may be revoked and the person shall be incarcerated until he has served the original sentence imposed by the court without any portion thereof suspended.

IÔÇÖm going to add a long post later with some videoÔÇÖs from my trip to Jax this weekend. Long story short: they have been at this for a lot longer than we have and know how to handle cops and gathering areaÔÇÖs for weekend meetÔÇÖs. The videoÔÇÖs speak louder than what I type but basically they pick strategic locations, they meet at two places at once and travel between the two (sounds stupid I know, but itÔÇÖs not) the meet at a Sonics and overflow into a bank parking lot and an ArbyÔÇÖs with a strip mall parking lot behind it, once SonicÔÇÖs ArbyÔÇÖs and the bank are full, they overflow into the strip mall parking lot.

The cops dont run them off Why? Because Arbys and Sonics and the Bank have customers, they actually cater to the crowd by adding additional chairs and coffee and cocoa stands outside their parking lots. The cops dont run them off because people buy food, drink and use the ATM . The business owners want the crowds there (obviously, because they cater to them). The cops dont run the people in the strip mall off because Sonics and Arbys are full and their customers are having to park out back (and no establishment that is in the business of making money will call the cops on their customers).

They also do it to a large gas station, and you guessed it, the gas station caterÔÇÖs to them too they set up tables with coffee tinÔÇÖs and coolers with energy drinks for the crowds. When the cops show up, they tell them they donÔÇÖt need them and have a nice night.


What do we do We pile up in an empty parking lot of a closed business and get pissed when they run us off.
