Do the LS based motors have the same bellhousing bolt pattern as a traditional V8 chevy?

yes, minus using all of the bolts if im not mistaking. But yes, a th350/400, 700r4 etc work

hes right. a converter needs a crank spacer and the flywheel bolts elongated a little.

they are different generations of 4l60e's some will not bolt up to a ls block nor 700r4 i believe

Or you can do it the right way and just get a torque converter made for a th400 or th350 and a ls motor and it will bolt right up to a ls flywheel and no spacers needed. Cameron in Columbia can build them.

Yes. They will bolt up, minus a few bolts. If you run the standard converter you will need a conversion kit. The ls1, i know, has a crank spacer on it, you need to remove it and then install the adapter kit. Otherwise the flywheel will not fit, i had to go in behind and fix another shops fuck up because they had no clue what they were doing. :boohoo:

or just do what lorenz said, have a converter built, not always the cheapest option.

I had a converter built for mine for a th350 to my motor i didnt use a spacer but alot of these guys are going LS and already have converters they wanna use. so i figured id throw that out there
