Double Flaring

Is there a place that I can take some brake lines to and have the double flared, or does anyone locally have a metric double flare kit and is good at using it? Thanks for the help,

Mike

I have a SAE double flare kit and I rented a metric single flare kit from Auto Zone. The problem I am having is getting the brake line to tighten enough in the bar clamp. Every time I start the flare, it just pushes the line back? Any tips would be appreciated.

I have had the problem of the tubing slipping in the bar clamp before, too. A trick you can do is to scotch-tape a single layer of sand cloth to the od of your tubing with the sandy side towards the tubing. Then install your bar clamp and dare it to slip again!

I always have to do 3/8" tubing that way. My tool does 5/16" for the most part without slipping.

I have been eying that kit ever since it hit the tool catalogs. It is definitely on my dream list if I get lucky and win a lottery or something like that.

Expensive, but it looks like it is the shiz-nit of anything you would ever want to do with automotive tubing.
