ppssSSHHHHHHHHH.. turbosmart?..

Slow_Esuvee 03-24-2011 10:45 AM

no blow off valve ...
yes this is scott ,Sean ... we had a good time at Darlington lastnight you should have been there.

ForceFed4g63 03-24-2011 10:48 AM

No BOV? How does that work?

Slow_Esuvee 03-24-2011 11:05 AM

like someone said above its bad for the turbo but this is how it works.

when u make alot of boost an just lift instantly ... it makes all the air that is going into the throttle body hit the throttle blade now because it is shut so the air travels backwards an makes that sound.

On these cars at the end of a pass or wot your supose to ease out of the throttle an not slam the throttle blades closed like that.

ForceFed4g63 03-24-2011 11:07 AM

Interesting, so basically it's compressor surge, which will destroy your turbo. Why don't you run a BOV?

ShawnBoyMoody 03-24-2011 11:47 AM

We call it barking the Turbo in the diesel world.

do that on one of these you cant hear for days. We call it air hammer.

ShawnBoyMoody 03-24-2011 12:01 PM

What is that beast?

Derek 03-24-2011 12:05 PM

multi stage blower for diffused air injection at a water plant.

MonteC 03-24-2011 12:54 PM

Guess I better stop doing that....
