who can swap an engine for me? (01 tahoe)
ironing out the details now... found an lq4 that im trying to pick up to go in my 01 tahoe... if everything works out, i'll have the engine within a week or so... need someone to swap the cam (want to go with something with a little bit of lope to it...suggestions?), drop it in, get it running, and throw a tune on it... doesnt have to be the same person for all of it but i definitely want to get the ball rolling... who wants some work? :)

If you want it done all at once, I would talk to Jeff at HHP carolina.

JP Williams, LSx Tuning and Performance, Hes done quite a few 6.0 swaps in those trucks, he can do everything for you, hes not on the forum but here is his number 843.608.8579

Thats not really that big of a cam. If you want something smaller than that I would say just get a ls6 camshaft. What kind of stall were you wanting to do? The trailblazer straight 6 converter stalls to 2500 behind a 6.0 and are only around $150 new. Alot of the truck guys are running those.

best headers for the money are the stainless "ebay" headers

I wouldnt put a 3000 in it thats to much. The trailblazer converter is 2500-2800 and is perfect for what your doing. |
|
thanks for the info... i will let you know
|
Even if you get a different cam I would go with that converter. For the money you cant beat it. Look around on this site.

Kool ss can usually do it pretty quick. I messaged him this thread.

The larger you go on the cam, you will also need to look at fuel injectors. Stockers will begin running high duty cycles around 5500 rpm. My LQ9 with a TSP 224r on stock injector was like 105% at 5600 rpms.
You need to look at your intended operating rpms, gearing, and converter when picking out a cam, specially for 4500+ lbs of ride. you can keep most nearly everthing stock (except valve springs and pushrods) if you keep the .050 duration under 200. Choppy idle can be had by reducing the LSA. To keep most of it stock, TSP 220r on a 112 or a 111 LSA. |
thanks guys... im still looking around some more and gathering info... gonna swing by and talk to jeff at HHP next week most likely and still looking around at my options... i have a good budget for all of this, but if i can save money on this project and still get what i want out of it i will have leftovers to go towards other things on the truck like wheels/rubber/suspension :)
