I did a study a while back on the two different style coolers on a Silverado 4L60E I had just gone through. The radiator cooler had to be bypassed due to a converter failure, so the aftermarket tube and fin auxiliary cooler that was already on it got put to the test as a stand alone. I was seeing 190 degrees in stop and go around town in 75 degree air with it. I knew that wouldn't cut it for 20 more degrees of summertime temps, so I replaced it with a like sized stacked plate cooler. Ran the same test drive route again in the same air temperature as before and noted a 25 degree drop from the old cooler. Nuff said.
Thanks. Any particular one to look for or just the best I can find?
