The cluster still works, you have to do some adjusting in the tune to get the gas gauge to work correctly. Its not hard, just very time consuming. I do a few a year and seem to get a little faster on each one. Plan on 8 hours or so for your first time. I charge alot to do them because I really dont like doing them BUT I still do them. I charge $600 with a used 411 or 896 pcm or $500 with no pcm.
You are basically removing all the wires but 3 or 4 from each connector and switching them to the other connector and a different pin number. I got lucky years ago and had a company give me there diagrams for doing the re-pin, they just asked I dont post there info. If you dig around on tech enough you will find diagrams on what to do, the info on tech is similar to what I use.
Its not hard to do if you take your time and pay attention.
