Turn system off. You would need to recover all the refrigerant into your unit. Remove txv. Install new txv. Cut dryer out. Solder new one in. Pressurize the system with nitrogen. Remove nitrogen from system if not leaks found. Put vacuum pump on system and vacuum down to about 250-500 microns (i prefer 2xx). Open valves. Turn system on. Let run for awhile. Check charge and add refrigerant if need be.

How do you know that you need a txv and filter dryer and oil added to the compressor?
