go look at the size of the rear end. the ring gear must be TINY to fit in there, the pumpkin is smaller than a soccer ball
most American Heavy Duty trucks use AAM axles now, with a 10.5" rear axle ring gear diameter
if you think about how often the teeth are smashing against each other while pulling a heavy load with tiny gears, that can't be good.
