I know of a way to run this race so that everyone has a chance of winning or atleast going a couple of rounds but it is going to sound complicated when i type it.
Rules:
DOT Tire
All lights, etc functional
Full interior (race seats and rear seat delete ok)
Tags and insurance with proof
No qualifying
Random pairings for every round
If you get knocked out in the first round you can buy back in if you want to
Here is the complicated part, but it would make for close racing and give everyone a chance:
If you end up paired against someone that you feel is faster than you, you can buy a handicap. For example- If Jeff is paired up against Paul and Jeff feels like he needs the break, he can buy the break for $3-$4 dollars. The money would go back into the main pot. Jeff would be making a little gamble to try to make it to the next round and Paul would take the gamble if he thinks he can win to add a little more to the pot.
This would give everyone a chance- the people who don't care anything about gambling or "grudge racing" wouldn't have to gamble any if they didn't want to and all you clowns who act like grudge racers could have your 15 minutes of fame.
If you wanted to take the arguing aspect out of the gambling part, do it like pinks and have both people quickly state their case to a neutral party and let that person decide if someone deserves a handicap. If the neutral party says that someone deserves an advantage, then they can pay up to the pot.
