the zq8 suspension is 1.5" lower than a non zq8 s-10 ("regular s-10's)
I hate to burst your bubble but I personally do not think 230 hp. Maybe 210 flywheel.
If you keep your transmission and plan on putting it behind a v8 (doing it now will help also) but I would look into doing the corvette servo setup and shiftkit. It will improve it a good amount.
I would look at doing an Ls1 swap. Are you a member on
www.s10forum.com? Look up BlackX over there. He did an ls1 swap with a little nitrous and runs pretty decent for what has been done to it.
I plan on doing an lt1 or Tbi 350 swap in my 90 blazer one day. Currently have a 355 in an 89 s15 now.
bluebird on here has a 97 s10 with a LT based motor in his truck as well.
