They got kicked out of there last Saturday. Probably the reason why there was only 6 of you guys there. Can't go anywhere now.

Here comes the rant that's finally reached critical mass concerning all of this BS:

I hope the city is happy, now. A couple of years ago, there were 75+ cars hanging (aka:'loitering') in a parking lot (controlled area)...now everyone is being pushed out onto the streets on Saturday night. Combine a bunch of street racing ricers and the drunks that are on the road = dynamite! Real smart. You'd think the city would rather have them all cooped-up in one location, off of the streets...

And before anyone says anything about private property: We had permission to hang out at the vacant dollar theater parking lot (by the owner), and we were kicked out of there, too. When someone tried to tell the officer that we were granted permission to be there and offered the phone# of the owner to the officer, he (cop) got an attitude and said he was going to arrest the dude if he (the official messenger boy) "didn't stop talking, get in his car and leave". So..it doesn't really matter where we go...they just don't want us to peaceably assemble...and apparently can't deal with that other nuisance of the 1st Amendment that allows the exercise of free speech. BAM! 1st ammendment struck down by ThA MAn liKE a MoFO!

This next part may be cliche', but aren't there some serious criminals transversing the roads that need 'tending to instead of some kids hanging out in an inactive parking lot? The Lil' Cricket down the street has been hit twice on Saturday nights last month -NO BS! Instead of roaming around the parking lots looking for the new "car hangout" to bust, how about we stick that extra officer on Dorchester rd. down by the AFB?

Maybe my logic is off, but an armed robber (who is still at-large) constitutes a much greater threat than a snot-nosed kid with a civic. Whoah.. just had an epiphany (my head hurts from this one). Let's start having the rice fest at the parking lot across the street from the 'Lil Cricket! That sure would get some cops over there in that nasty neighborhood for once!

Oh well...I guess we've settled for having kids work their weekly frustrations out on the traffic-packed roads on Saturday nights. The next time you see an abundance of ricer fly-bys, revving, racing from lights and weaving in/out of traffic...just remember that they weren't given the option of hanging out w/ other cars away from the roads.

My take on it all:
Along with keeping the "Gangs/drugs off of the streets", the city should adopt the "keep the ricers off of the street" mentality. Give them somewhere to vent on the weekend, 'cause if you don't..they are ultimately heading for the roads with bad intentions.
Highways or die-ways...the PD makes the choice. (<--I've always wanted to say that)
