I don't post here often and I know this forum has a heavy drag racing focus, but thought I'd mention an open track event at Carolina Motorsports Park on 6 Dec. CMP is in Kershaw, SC, 'bout 125 miles from Charleston. It's hosted by Turn One Motorpsorts (www.turnonetrackevents.com). You can sign up for one day or two, single day is $185. Early December = low turnout = lots of time on an uncrowded track. Usually 5 30 minute sessions. No car prep required, but checking the pads and flushing the brake fluid is a good idea. I'm going in the ZO6 and will be accompanied by 3 other local Charleston guys with another C5, a Roush 427R and a 1995 Cobra R. It's a good time and the more, the merrier (and more competitive).
Call of IM if you want more information. Regards, Chris 843-509-8148 |

I wish I had the spare cash! I would love to bring the G/F's new Cobalt SS.

I went up there for the One Lap of America. It is a nice facility but not very spectator friendly. It also seemed like it was a one car track; good for time trials but not conducive for wheel to wheel racing.
