Default Stepper motor replacement

For those that have replaced their stepper motors, how hard is it to do? Is it obvious on what needs to be done when cluster is removed?

Honestly, if you are going to do one, might as well do the other 4/5. It is not a matter of if, but when they go.

I agree. I replaced just my tach and then had several others go out with in months, lol. I now just do all of them and usually even replace the bulbs also.

dumb Q...

we got a used 2007 Tahoe, and the volt meter stays on 12 14 or 16.

never in between, never varies, one of those positions if truck is on. usually dead on 14.

is that motor bad? do the 2007's stepper motor's go bad?
not worth fixing yet, but annoying to look at, ya know?

Usually, it is the speedo and oil pressure gauge's motors that go bad. No reason the one for the volt meter can't, though.

That because you're "special", Robert.

By the way, when I get back to work, I need to bring my truck by to bounce some custom exhaust ideas off you.
