Default Keep or Sell? 1967 GTO

So i got this car about a year ago right before i joined the AF. When i got stationed here i had to leave it in Idaho at my dads place which was find with him because he has quite the collection of these some restored and some that he is in the process of doing. But now that im here im finding that its going to cost me around 1500 to get it shipped here to me. I like the car and dont want to sell it but the wife says now that i have my WS6 i need to let this one go. Anyway i just figured id post some pics in here and ask your opinions. Im leaning towards keeping it at the moment.

If she wants it gone and you're not going to do anything with it why not let it go?

Sell. Try to get it to someone who will get something done on it, if possible. Sad to see such a beautiful car go to waste. But... Life does happen.

^this.

I would only sell it if you have no plans to do anything with it anytime soon. If you will do some thing to it one day KEEP IT. Tell the wife to sell something of hers if it bothers her that much

Looks pretty solid to me. I wonder what the reason your Wife wants it gone is? $25/month to carry it should be no concern. I would keep it rather than sell with a firesale price.

That would be a fantastic restore and it's in great shape. You will regret this for the rest of your life if you sell. If your wife loves you and you love the car she wouldnt even ask you to sell. Just sayn...

Keep it, I might be biased but I am a huge poncho fan and own a 67 GTO too. You will regret it, I sold my 68 GTO and I regret it all the time. As is its not hurting anything to leave it where it is. Take some leave go home put some wrench time in on the motor get it running, and drive it out here. You plan to stay in the military forever? Eventually you will have the time once your out, then you can give it the time it needs. JMO.

Besides I sold my 68 for the same reason wife flipping me shit, now she is on the attack toward the WS6 says its not practical blah, blah. Women who bitch about cars will continue to do so, only next when you have a kid it will be sell the your WS6 let her complain about the goat, at least that way she will leave your firebird out of it. And she cant really do anything about it since its in another state. Tell her to get a job or a better one and finance her hobbies and leave you to yours as long as the bills are paid she shouldn't be bitching.

Ive been slowly collecting parts for it over the past year. Ive got about 80% of the interior parts redone. I have a pontiac 10 bolt posi that i rebuilt basically all i need for it is all of the trim around the bottom of the car and a trani. It came with a non origional 400 but i have a 455 i was going to put in it. When i was in high school my parents got me a 1972 lemans that my dad and i worked on together rebuilding a 455 for it and doing some other minor work but i sold that and my old 01 WS6 to get in. This 67 was supposed to be my toy to do with as i please but now she wants it gone. I am 50/50 at this point i know if i sell it i can focus on the 02 but a part of me wants to leave it alone for now.

Some pics I snapped of the goat last time I was back in my home town. Mine sits and waits too in my dad's shop. I work on it when I go back to home town. The undercariage is completly done only thing left on the interior is to put the new uphostery on the driver seat. There are covers on them but thats for protection. Car has 42,356 original miles on the odometer and is a XS coded 4 speed car also known as Ram Air 1 and very rare. Body work is 95% finished. Its also numbers matching. Me and my dad worked on it for years before I joined the service and it was his baby he did a lot of awesome things with it like the motor listed below, but found out he had cancer way too late and got to sick to continue on it. I worked my ass off on it and he got to drive it a couple times with the mods but then got to sick and passed, Its mine now and I wont ever get rid of it. It sits on jack stands now with stabil in the tank. I break it out of the garage when I go home and take her in town to see old friends and stuff, and work on it when I am there. To me its a constant reminder of how short life is. Also a lot of good memories in it. First roll race with my dad at 8 years old, kicked the shit out of a fox. It was mildly modified then. First burn out, even learned to drive on the old farm roads in it.

Whats done to it.
492 cubic inch Butler rotating assembly 13.5:1 has to run on race gas or E-85 only there are not a lot of corn stations out west.
Butler ported 670 Cast heads
3 different intake setups; 66 Tri power, Vic Jr with 850, and I have a offenhowser dual quad with twin holley 650s. Went back to the vic as the car was averaging 6mpg with a 3.08 gear
Butler spec solid roller. 850/850" 256/250 on a 110
M-22
Borg & Beck clutch
Hayes flywheel
Hooker super comp headers
3.5" exhaust with cutouts and flowmaster single chambers.

Man why the hell did I get into FI computer controlled cars, it seems so much simpler to go fast with one of these setups. lol

Awesome. Keep it and let her bitch. She isn't going to leave over that. The are other reasons as well if she leaves. But then again I have never been married and I am in my early 30's so WTH do I know.
