got an 87 the other week with the factory h-pipe with the cats cut off. just looking to get some cats for this car as I've got it back running good and no codes but it still smells like gas at idle.
I'm willing to trade straight up if you are wanting to get rid of your catted h-pipe or I'm willing to buy one that someone has in their garage. just let me know. |

I had one, but I just chopped off the cats and scrapped them..... I may know where one is at, how much are you looking to spend?

it doesnt run like an injector is hanging hmmm. might borrow my friends injector noids and look into that. honestly if I had to bet, its likely because the gas in the tank is about 2~3 years old from what the old owner told me o_O
was hoping to spend $100 or less since I can just get a pair of catcos off summit for $80, also looking for local pickup just because of the nature of shipping something like this from GA. I just havent been in the mood to weld for a couple months, man I'm lazy recently lol. |

If the gas is 2-3 years old I'd drain that out......Or run it out and then run a tank of good fuel with injector cleaner, etc through it. Gas these days just doesn't last very long sitting in the tank....I just drained out sour gas from my '70 that was less than 1 and a half years old and had Stabil. But my fuel filler cap doesn't seal all that well......

If I wanted cats I'd just buy 2 new high-flow ones and weld them in.....That way you know they are good.

I'd love it if that clears it up but I remember my 94 gt slightly smelling like gas as well when it was de-catted. figured it wouldnt hurt to get ahead though just cause I'm so burnt out on welding right now. Its one of those things I know how to do, just dont really like it. |
