Default FS: 2001 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab 6.0L

Craigslist Ad
2001 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab
6.0L gas motor
245,000 Miles
Runs great
Battery replaced 06/15/15, Front rotors and pads replaced less than 3k miles on them, 4 Michelin Tires with less than 8k miles.
It's a 14 year old work truck so cosmetically it doesn't look that great, but will be fine to do some more work in.

Carl, why don't you buy this, and I can keep "Ole Bentley" at my place this weekend?

I need about three loads of gravel

There's a few on the craigslist ad. Front bucket seats are a blue cloth, with the normal rip on the drivers seat. Previous owner said it didn't have a back seat; so he found one that's a tan leather. I don't think there's any rips, but it looks worn out. I'll get some more pictures later if you want.

yeah, duh. dang corvette guys, want a new truck for used truck prices!

Carl, that ragged white truck I had for a while is pretty much the same as this one, and at this mileage & price, the interior is of no concern. the only people setting in there are going to WORK.

transmission, ball joints, control arms, steering components & wheel bearings are the big $$ culprits on trucks like this: work truck (never taken down for service), heavy duty, carrying 4 or 5 guys, load in bed, load in trailer & stopngo traffic.

in other words, this old truck has had a hard life, if you want something nice, this will never be it.

if you wanna put 4 guys in it with a little trailer & some yard tools & go cut grass, this is the truck for you.

and I will hazard a guess, but this thing probably smells AWFUL when it sits with the windows up in the summer. that one I had would almost gag you.

that little truck you have is the exception, it's a nice clean truck you could take to cactus & take on a date. but that's because it was a light duty single cab that never had 5 sweaty non-English speaking guys in it for 5 summers straight.

I'm taking the truck to CarMax sometime next week to at least get a price. Last truck I took them; they gave me $1,000 more than I was asking.

When I put new tires on the truck, I had an alignment. They said ball joints felt good. Tires seem to be wearing even, although it's hard to tell with only 8k miles. Transmission feels perfect.

I didn't notice the smell, although my wife could. 1st thing she did when I brought the truck home was spay it with Febreze.

heck yeah, if it steers straight & shifts good, that's a 4k truck all day.
esp with new tires.
you just can't beat a four door truck for usefulness.

well, on KBB, with 240,000 miles, it varies from 4969 to 3228.
(with 240 miles, it is worth 12k...gotta be careful....)

I would try CarMax, all they can do is lowball, but you are out of it & on your way to the next adventure.

i sold my '99 2500 6.0 4l80e extended cab last about a year ago for 5500. had 256k on it. interior was in pretty good shape on it though.

if the interior is the only thing shot on it, i would snoop around some junkyards and try to piece together a decent interior for it. pull the carpet out, scrub it, and blast the dirt out of it with the hose. i would think you could get 5k+ out of it.
