Either you guys aren't running your rides enough to break any transmissions or I have built them all around here already!...... Just joking, fellas!..... In reality, we all know that if something has moving parts or tits, it will eventually give you trouble!
This post isn't about "tooting my own horn", so to speak, but I've noticed that my rebuild bench has been quiet for a while now. I figure that with the recession sinking in, disposable income to support the drag racing habit just isn't there for most of us. Less running = less broke parts. |

I just drove another "gerald built transmission" tonight. 4l60e behind a stock 4.3 and I will say , it shifts pretty nice and to me it seems it could take a beating. Way better than a stock 4l60e for sure. Just wish I could throw alittle more power to it and see how it will react.
So far, it shifts pretty FIRM going into 2nd and 3rd. But need to adjust timing to really wake her up.

Hal, give me a call when you get some free time with that "new" Blazer of yours. I would like to go for a ride to see how that particular shift kit does behind a stock converter. That 4L60-E is the first one I have done with the milder version of the Transgo shift kit. All my performance 4L60-E builds get the full bore Transgo HD-2 kit. That milder version shift kit is mainly for towing enhancement and taking the factory sloppiness out and it is only half the cost of the HD-2 kit. When I did the rebuild on that unit, Darryl was still planning on keeping the Blazer. Darryl said the previous owner was the original owner since new and had to put 3 or 4 GM reman transmissions in it due to pulling an oversized camper all the time through the mountains. Darryl didn't feel comfortable not knowing how much heavy towing was on that last GM reman when he got the truck, so he shuffled it to me and I went through it and took care of the factory slop. |

I'll be getting with you to massage the 4l60e in the 01 blazer of mine when I pull the motor again. I'm trying to hit 10's in the 8th and need it to handle the 200 hp.
