They said they would be open all year and they have not!!! Tracks upstate are running even in the cold weather. Rain. I can understand. Cold?

37 degrees tomorrow with a wind chill, windy as hell, no paved parking so that means you get to park in the soggy grass or mud, and with the huge amount of rain to hit Bowman today the track will probably still be damp and you can't glue over a damp track, or a track that still might have a little water left to seep through. I wouldn't open either, that's all I was getting at. Since you were planning on racing tomorrow, you can head up to Jackson- gates open at 1pm. |

Bowman said they would stay open all year. That is my point. Why drive 2 1/4 hours upstate when weather is colder?

If you want to have a track open all year rain or shine I beleive Midway is for sale. You can still purchase it. Other than that let the guy who has to prep the track and take care of it make the decisions.

the whole point is that if its raining or a good chance of rain why would they take the time and money to prep the track and then it rain and they loose money. Its a business they look at it as if they will make money not loose it. and with the cold if they cant get the track too hook too good they everyone will bitch so whats the point. before they were open 3 yrs ago every winter there was NO track open around here. we should be lucky that there is a track that will take the time and open if the weather is good to run

^^Not only that, but with what Wes said it looks like it would be much easier to get some accidents going on with those conditions. Seems like it's a safety issue at the same time.

Everybody around here knows how our winters are. Rainy at times and Cold at times. The best thing to do would just close until the chances of actually opening up are good. But, hey, His track, He can do what he wants. Not good for business to yo yo around with your schedule.

I'm glad they are trying to open, it won't hurt the business from me one bit. |

Good call Ronald. I can't believe not opening today would even be questioned.
With a saturated track and pits, someone would hit the wall, they would be questioning the track prep. It just rained here at my house 30 minutes ago. |
