				 | New Heads-Up Shootout

Need some input guys. We are thinking about having a 5.80 or 5.90 Heads-Up Shootout. Off the top of my head, I know of several cars that run in this range. Just trying to get some feedback to gauge the possible interest in this class. Rules would be; No Scoreboards, No qualifying, Pairing by drawing names out of a hat, NO ENTRY FEE, Run Whatcha Brung. $600 to win, $300 r-up, $100. Based on 10 cars. Just trying to see who would be interested and what the cut off would be 5.80 or 5.90. We are just trying to give the smaller guys a race that they can compete in, have fun and have a good chance of winning. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, for the feedback Mark. If we can get atleast 8 cars confirmed, it's a go. Talked to Cut Throat earlier and he's in. Just need 6 more cars.

Index is gonna be hard to do with the cars that grudge race, because Everyone will know what the cars run if you do it like that, the heads up fast ford is a blast or have a street car shoot out would be good also, have to be on DOT approved tire(dragradial) the would be good heads up pro tree Just my 2cents

If we dont go the index route, would limiting the tire size help to keep the faster guys out? Nothing bigger than a 28 or 29 size tire?

I'll try it. Might be able to run 5.90 on two kits.

I might be able to pull off a 5.80 at the 330' mark, that counts right!

If you want some interesting racing, make it a DOT tire class. Nothing bigger than 28" tall. (which would be pretty much any radial/DOT except the 315) No other rules- run whatcha brung. Dorchester is not a radial track, so it would make for some very interesting racing- anyone could win any round against anybody. Last edited by WWhittle; 10-25-2011 at 08:10 PM. | |
