Not hacking the car up like most of the other LTards either. Factory shit works.

Honestly, that is what I am trying to avoid. All these retarded LT1 owners cut supports, rivet sheet metal and cut hoods.

Find you a base and trim it down with the stock lines and it will fit under a stock hood. All it takes is a little time with a dremel and the stock LS1 base will fit. That paired with a SSRA has proven gains.

Thanks for the offer, John. I currently have that same intake. I am looking to get rid of the elblow and pick up a little power on the LT1.

That looks pretty good Matt, I just never had took the time to find the support or get one to fit. But that looks pretty bad with that metal around it. Looks terrible thats why I just left it alone. I do however have a Z06 MAF

I may end up running a larger maf on mine as well.

Here is a good resource for the correct hoses. http://www.intakehoses.com/

I'm just saying... At least the old SBC had a classic look and with a nice single plane and a good carb they clean up well and are aesthetically pleasing to look at. Hell, the TPI engines, as shitty as they were, have a "cool" factor to them with how the intake is designed as far as looks go and clean up pretty well if you remove all the clutter. LT1's intake and accessory mounting, plug wires running everywhere to get to the bottom front of the engine, etc is just plain ugly. Not saying they can't be damn good engines, just ugly to look at. I like simple, neat, and functional engines- the LT1 is none of those...

the LT1 accessories arent any worse than the LS engines. and all you see when looking under the hood is the alternator. not much to be ugly there.

plug wires- if its stock, you can't see any plug wires on an LT1. lol visible on an LS1, not visible on an LT1 car.

intake- looks like a tpi intake without the runners.

the LT1 is just a sbc with reverse cooling and a injected intake. pretty simple, imo. its neat unless someone has butchered the wiring or something, and its functional. the only real bad thing i can say about the LT1 is the optispark and i never had any issues with mine. overall its a very good engine. much more than what people give it credit for.
