They are a good sticky performance tire for street duty but they don't handle heat. I was disappointed when I tried them out at Michelin's Lauren Proving Center.

That was my 2nd time out since I put the new motor in it; first time was at Dorchester and I wasn't happy with my times at all. I normally go out once or twice a year.

Hell mine work better WITH heat. I havent been disappointed one time with them. You must have been on a Uniroyal Tigerpaw at Michelin.

Just got mine mounted today. Was pleased with them on my RS4 but then again never took them to any proving grounds.

They were brand new Super Sports a C6 Grandsport that I was giving ridealongs in for the day. They got greasy when hotlapped vs the RE-11s that stay consistent.

Unless something as changed: RS3>DZ*specs>RE11

I've ran the Direzza star specs and they were a total AX tire, just like I'm sure the RS3s are. Gripped like crazy, handled the heat, stiff sidewalls....but laughable in the rain, loud as fuck and wore-out in under 10K miles (comes w/the territory).

All three of these tires are NOW classified as "200 Wear rating" to conform to the new street tire requirements.

I put 4k miles on the set on my cobalt... The only time they got too hot was when i was over driving the car... and then they had breakaway characteristics similar to an R-Compound...

side by side on two cars at the track the SS will uberpwn the RE11's lap times...

I've been thinking about upgrading the ///Mslow tires to NT05s...right now it has Pilot Sport A/S which I doubt will be that good at an autox.

Re-11s last 20k miles on my car racing nearly every weekend, abusing the shit out of them. I also run -3 and -2 camber. They ride perfectly quiet and are great in the rain.

At least on my car they are the perfect tire.

I've been thinking of upgrading to the new pros, I'm on Hoosiers now and they are pretty sticky for a street tire

I may try a set of BFG Rival's on the Camaro next. Gonna have to step up to a Miker sized 18 in dub, nobody makes jack shit in a 17 anymore wider than a 245 except the nitto/toyo stuff.

I've seen 3 sets of rivals have very bad tread splice splitting. STAY AWAY.

It is also worth noting when I was at the Michelin Proving Grounds I was told the rivals use the same compound of rubber as the Super Sports. BFGoodrich and Michelin are the same company.
