2005 Silverado Oil Guage/Pressure Issue
My dad has a 2005 Silverado with a 5.3. He let it sit for 3 days straight and went to drive it the other day and the oil pressure gauge is going crazy. It's jumping all the way to 80 pounds and then back to 0. Comes up to around 40 occasionally like it should be. He checked the oil and it's full. No noise from the engine like it's starving for oil. Did not quickly heat up like a no oil problem might show but he hasn't driven it to much because he's nervous about it.
Anyone else had this problem? Could it just be the stepper motor issue in the gauges? Any oiling system known problems that could show up like this. It's got about 130,000 miles on it and has never had a problem while he's owned it. It didn't have a problem before he let it sit for 3 days. Thanks is advance for the help. |
