gonna put this tray on hinges.
![]() so that it tucks up under the dash when not used, but you can fold it down to work on it. the long ground strap is from the case, to chassis grounds, eliminates any chance of a floating ground or static charge I did a power distro block on the firewall: I moved the smaller wires off the starter, and ran one big wire up to a large car stereo fuse on the firewall, and made that a +12v wiring center with fuses ![]() I came off there, and went under the dash, and made a hinged panel, with 2 blocks: one is hot/battery, one is switched/accessory. ![]() i just put a relay on back of it, and used the accessory lead for the radio to cycle the relay. ![]() ![]()

Ground the MSD to the battery, not the chassis.

so, run one wire all the way back to the trunk mounted battery to ground the MSD?
what gauge, I was not thinking the MSD required lots of power (like a car stereo amp) since an HEI runs off tiny stock wires, i guess the MSD needs more though. the MSD leads were ~10gauge, i guess. i was thinking of putting one of those large car stereo capacitors on the MSD though, to keep it a steady stable supply of electricity. have not found one cheep on Clist, though

Do not waste your time on a cap. You do not have a large draw of electrical on your car to even warrant one. It is a good idea. But think of it like this. If you did have a big stereo in the car and was worried about it not keeping the supply of power to the msd and other stuff because of the boom, than you would do the cap for the stereo.
I think you will be fine with just grounding it to the battery and running it like normal.

yeah looks like we are keeping it...had zero interest on ebay,
right at 945 views, about a dozen watchers and no questions, no offers, no nothing... that's why i took all the time to build this platform for the MSD, and did it right. and it's a REALLY fun car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...item255be58b58
