Cuz the 'Ring. The elevation changes aren't accurately captured in videos or video games. It blew my mind how much uphill there was to that track.

The one time I went there with my buddy and his 335i, it was closed. We were disappoint. He later went back and actually drove it, after I had already returned to the states. So still on my bucket-list to do.

LT1 head flow data

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ylinder_heads/

Graphs show the LS3/L92 with gain over the LT1, but articles say the opposite.

LT1 ports are wayyyyy smaller than the LS3 stuff... no surprise that the LS3 stuff shows a slightly higher flow rate. Now i'm curious how a cathedral port trickflow flows compared to an LT1 head.

The c6 was definitely an Auto, but was it an LS2 or 3? I didn't notice any mention?

Straight from the owners manual:

Quote:
Launch Control (Track
Mode Only)
A Launch Control feature is
available, within Competitive Driving
Mode (except Z51 with Magnetic
Selective Ride Control) or
Performance Traction Management
(Z51 with Magnetic Selective Ride
Control), on all vehicles to allow the
driver to achieve high levels of
vehicle acceleration in a straight
line. Launch Control is a form of
traction control that manages tire
spin while launching the vehicle.
This feature is intended for use
during closed course race events
where consistent zero to
60 and quarter mile times are
desirable.
Launch Control is only available
when the following criteria are met:
. Competitive Driving Mode is
selected (except Z51 with
Magnetic Selective Ride Control)
or any of the Performance
Traction Management modes
are selected (Z51 with Magnetic
Selective Ride Control). The
TCS light comes on the
instrument panel and the
appropriate DIC message
displays.
. The vehicle is not moving.
. The steering wheel is pointing
straight.
Manual Transmissions
. The clutch is pressed and the
vehicle is in 1 (First) gear.
. The accelerator pedal is rapidly
applied to wide open throttle.
The Launch Control feature will
initially limit engine speed as the
driver rapidly applies the accelerator
pedal to wide open throttle. Allow
the engine rpm to stabilize.
A smooth, quick release of the
clutch, while maintaining the fully
pressed accelerator pedal, will
manage wheel slip. Complete shifts
as described in Manual
Transmission on page 9-30.
Automatic Transmissions
. The brake pedal must be firmly
pressed to the floor, equivalent
to a panic brake event.
. The accelerator pedal is rapidly
applied to wide open throttle. (If
the vehicle rolls due to wide
open throttle, release the
throttle, press the brake pedal
more firmly, and re-apply the
accelerator to wide open
throttle.)
The Launch Control feature will
initially limit engine speed as the
driver rapidly applies the accelerator
pedal to wide open throttle. Allow
the engine rpm to stabilize.
Learned that the Auto has Launch Control as well.

Then that video is really no surprise then; the stingray has 50hp more out of the box which is far more than any cold air kit and exhaust mod is going to give that LS2 engine.

Headers (if that's what that car has) are worth far less than you are giving them credit with a stock motor and NO tune. Normally any CAI is worth 10-15fwhp. At 1:07 you can clearly see the C6 has aftermarket tail pipes which leads me to believe it is a "CAI and Axle back only car".

A 460hp LT1 7spd vs a 400 ish LS2 A6. The LS2 car was just outgunned

I was thinking it has full exhaust and a tune to go with it.. My C5Z went from 330 or so rwhp to 375. About 40hp difference so I thought that an LS2/3 could probably pick up more, especially if it had longtubes (I had tri-y).

Just read your link:

Quote:
Yep...it's just a shot in the dark, but most seem to pull 385-395rwhp with full intake/exhaust and dynotuning.
Quote:
Stock your car is in the mid 340 rwhp range generally, so yes, with intake and full exhaust (plugs/wires and lower themostat wont add any power) you'll be picking up about 45-50rwhp after tuning.
I wasn't too far off it seems!

Again, assuming he has full exhaust and tune.
