Question about ignition boxes...
So the Tweecer will take care of timing, rev limiter stuff.. I just need a box with a hotter spark than factory Ford parts. I was looking at one of the 6A type boxes...Summit, MSD, Mallory.. How much difference is there in them? I have always ran MSD boxes. I have a lot of friends who swear by the Mallory stuff and I have seen them have good luck from it. But the cost of the Summit stuff is WAY better. I would think the warranty / customer help is as good as MSD or Mallory since its from Summit, and the boxes do the same thing as the higher priced boxes do.
Thoughts, opinions. I need to order this week. |

The summit stuff IS mallory. Just put the summit name on it. Just ask one of the tec guys at summit. I have a Mallory box. Would have got the summit box, but you can not get it with out the boost retard stuff. Made the price more than the mallory box with out the boost retard stuff that I would not use. The box I got has all of the same stuff as a digital 6 plus plus a window switch and optional boost retard and its a lot easer to adjust and its cheaper. We havent had any problems out of it yet. I had a lot of MSD boxes. There great when they work, but they allways go out on me. I have a 6AL and a digital 6 plus. Neither one of them work.

The only real advantage to the 850606 box is the built in rev limiter. The Tweecer will control the revs on mine so I dont need to spend the extra money on the box IMO that has a built in limiter.
