Default just a honda

earliest pic i have. the original is on my old phone that is like, dead lol. bought it april 16th, 2008

it was an automatic with like 163k on it. ran awesome and i fell in love with it at first sight. started putting some parts on it and learned alot. when i started i didn't know how to do anything. nothing. the first actual mechanical thing i did was lower it. it was the best feeling ever. since then its pretty much consumed me. after a while the auto died so i changed over to a manual. here it was at its peak, September 2009

stripped it all down after a couple months with a plan to rebuild. picked up a little civic cx to DD while the prelude was down and worked on it some

after i graduated highschool in may i wanted to join the air force. i'd have to leave the prelude and scrap it. went to the recruiter and got rejected b/c of my "large" tattoo on my leg...gay

started working at the japanese restaurant that i worked at the previous summer when i swapped to a manual. started as a dishwasher/delivery guy. then started cooking. applied for a couple good jobs with hopes of getting my own place, got rejected. knowing it may be a while till i land something where i can get out on my own, the itch for the prelude came back in october, 2010. and thats where this starts

dash back in and all wired up

back seat stuff back in

the rear tray thing and the headliner are gonna get wrapped in black vinyl one of these days

finally got some good stuff done today. ordered my steering wheel/hub adaptor and seats this wk. also finally started on the bay tonight. here's some pics

before...

after taking the paint off...

after some welding (couple holes filled in, not grinded down all the way)....

and after grinding (use to be two holes here)

this is using a 90$ flux core welder from harbor freight. it does good for what i need. i did manage to catch my pants on fire though lol. i started out just trying to see what it can do getting use to it. that last picture shows me getting use to it and getting it near perfect. cant wait to get more done tomorrow!

the bay as it is now. took the rack and pinion out

passenger side. still some work needs to be done as far as welding

driver side still has a couple more holes

firewall. grinded off the studs and drilled off the bracket things

radiator support. just needs bondo to fill in the smaller holes from welding

and today more of the same. welded up some more holes. and some pics since everyone likes pics lol

section above firewall welded up

starting to weld in the firewall

i should get the seats tomorrow. im so excited lol. then the steering wheel may get here late this wk or early next

first part just came in

corbeau a4's!

steering wheel came in

momo

momo tuner series 320mm black leather w/ red stitching

another part came in today

Boss Kit steering wheel hub adaptor

the adaptor

17x8 +45, 17x9 +44. gonna get 10mm spacers front and rear

finally another part

fnf type 1's

these things are beautiful! got some stickers and a measuring tape with them

stickers gotta go somewhere rofll

also ordered a set of 2in 4pt black corbeau harnesses

well went out for a cig and found these

laid out on the floor

dry fitted on the seats. i love em

harness bar and spacers being ordered next in like two more wks or so. ordered esp engine mounts/traction bar last night

got the sunroof thingy back in...thing was soo heavy

got another part today

nrg harness bar (excuse the blue, that'll change)

took apart one of the wheels. would like to get them all taken apart saturday morning before work. then gotta get them polished

here's a pic of laying some body filler in the bay

wire wheel ftw

well i turned my power steering rack and pinion into a non power steering rack and pinion using my old wheel studs. here's a quick how to lol

old wheel studs

get four and cut the tips off like this

place them into the holes and turn. they dont thread in much but it should be enough to hold them with some loctite or w/e

where the rubber line was i plugged the holes with some silicone

well my lug nuts finally came in today

just gotta get outer tie rods and i can set the car on the ground for the first time in more than a year and give it a wash lol

almost done laying filler in the bay. hopefully one more coat followed by a very very light coat

well. the car has touched the ground for the first time in over a year

i didnt take the time to mess with the suspension much. just set it down. the front need work clearly lol, plus no weight on them

for me personally, i think i nailed it

one thing is the driver side rear tire seems to be losing air. im guessing its the old seals on the valve stems. gotta get that fixed before the car goes off for paint

laid the fast and firm seam filler today

driver side

passenger side. messed up on the shock tower, first place i tried. gotta sand the crap off and re-do it now that i have a better understanding of how to do it

outer tie rods showed up. should be getting quiet a few parts within a wk or two. ordered h22a, h22a4 oil pump housing, h23 manual tensioner kit, kaizenspeed balance shaft eliminator and an euro r crank pulley. this wk has been very expensive lol

oil pump housing showed up today. needs a good cleaning

first car wash in over a year

got my h23 manual tensioner kit

kinda up in the air about grabbing a m2b4 trans while i can, or get the engine bay painted and done with. not to sure yet

euro r crank pulley thanks to brian!

I give you about two weeks of driving before you crack, bend, or curb a rim. Those tires need to be 20-30mm wider. Shit looks retarded. Did you do that on purpose?

That's the "stretched" look. Frankly, I need about 20mm more on FUPA. I put the stock 255s on 10" wheels and it is a bit stretched for my taste. Waiting on the new Pilot Supersports to come out next month to go a bit wider.

OP, keep up the good work. Pos rep.

the tire was losing air b/c of a bad seal on the valve stem. its since been fixed. not everyone likes the stretched tire thing but i like it if done modestly. now a days the stretch i have is moderate lol. i plan to pick up another set of wheels probably about 8" to use for some autox now and again. thanks for the welcome!
