Whats the point to spend money on all those mods then try to run the cheapest converter you can find that's not even made for your application? Everyone who has one thinks they are ok until they actually put in a real converter and then they realize how crappy that conveter is.

Cameron reconditioned a shitty TCI for me and I couldn't be happier. Good service and a good price. Just something to think about.

torque converter upgrade for a STREET driven truck really doesnt make sense to me. my truck (00 silverado 4.8) feels extremely loose compared to my Fbody's converter.

in my opinion anything more than an extra 1000rpm over stock in the truck would just be wasting fuel, so the TB converter would actually probably not feel bad but alot of work for no gain.

unless you are running a cam that requires more stall speed to get it going i'd leave it be.

what gear are you running and do you have the G80?

the truck is 100% stock 99 5.3 silverado excab sb other than cai and exhaust 242000 miles and it knocks when cold so if i am going into the motor and having a trans built i am not going back to a stock cam and converter the cams i have been considering do advise a higher stall and tune however like i said it is not going to be a track star or trailer queer i might go to the track make a couple of passes the tow someones broke shit home
