God forbid people having opinions. I not a boat owner but they seem to have nice boats.

Apparently, some people on here had trouble with reading comprehension in school. If you go back and re-read my post, I never said anything negative about scout boats. They are nice boats, just not worth the money IMO. 80-90% of their boats are aimed at fishermen, and as a fishing boat, there are plenty of far cheaper options, that will do as good of a job at getting to the fishing hole......Now ya'll pull your panties out of your manginas' and carry on......

Exactly. Larry is one of the nicest guys on here and will bend over backwards to help anyone.

Dropping a deuce in his thread was asinine.

Ryan. Telling someone that you think what they have is not worth what they go for is something negative.

I have met whaler, and he is a super nice guy. Not trying to trash anybody's business, just state an opinion about a brand of boat, not a perticular boat dealer, person, or anything else for that matter. We will have to agree to disagree on this....I stand where I stand on scout boats.....Apparently lots of people feel they are worth every penny, because I see lots of them on the water....

You have no idea, because Scout's target market is far from 80-90% fisherman. I sell far more for family use than for just fishing. They build a great mixed use product. As far as cheaper options, you should've bought a Carolina Skiff and saved yourself some money. If you think Scout is too expensive, then Boston Whaler and Grady White must be stupid to even think they can sell boats at their prices and stay in business.

The engines alone are probably worth $60-75K.

So if we apply your logic to pony cars you should have bought a fox body mustang instead of a 4th gen F-body.

Thanks for the compliment. Didn't mean it as bragging, but was surprised that we beat out the South Florida dealers.

I grew up around Boston Whalers. My parents have owned several of them, and still own a 1991 15' sport model, which is one of the best boats ever made. My ex-father in law had a grady white, which he loved. Boston Whaler's were pioneers in the 70's and 80's when they would cut their boats into pieces with chainsaws, fill them full of people and water, etc, and they would still float. I would pay for that, as I have never seen another boat manufacturer (including grady white) make an unsinkable claim that they could back up. Grady White's have an extremely deep V, so they burn more gas, can't get in shallow water, take longer to plane, etc, but you won't find a better/drier ride. I have been 60 miles out in the gulf stream on a 19' tournament Grady White on a calm day chasing spadefish. I have also been out on several scouts that buddies own and love. We have these arguements all the time. As far as your Carolina Skiff comment, they make good crabbing boats, but that is about it. Flat bottom=crappy ride, enough said about that one.
