It will here very shortly even though the tracks around here don't require one. Its a safety thing and required at other tracks that actually tech. We are trying to get every thing in order per the rules and regulations to not get booted off the track.

C-clip eliminators with factory disc brakes on the 8.8 requires milling out an area on the caliper brackets to let the housing of the eliminator sit flat. The caliper bracket gets sandwiched between the flange on the axle tube and the bearing housing of the eliminator.

Not on mine. I moved the caliper bracket to the inside of the axle housing end flange (which the c-clip elim is bolted to)
But I think it depends on which axles you use??? I used Fox length axles.

we're running stock Explorer 31 spline axles without the e-brake hardware. does this make a difference too?

Thanks for the pic. I have never seen or heard of it being done that way. It does look to require the correct length of axle stick out past the eliminator housing, though. I'd imagine that if necessary, some spacers and longer bolts could be used to move the caliper out away from the newly inboard mounted caliper bracket.

When you do it this way ( late model stock Cobra brakes on Fox length axles ) you have to put a very thing washer between the caliper and bracket to center it over the rotor. Otherwise thats the only spacer thats used.

I did notice the one washer spacer in your pic. Interesting.

would you still be using stock length axles for this? At the time I do this I would also be changing to aftermarket axles.
