Actually, Im pretty sure the 60' was the result of the torque he was making baised on how rich the A/F was down bottom, a rich a/f on our motors = a boatload of torque.
We could have braught up the trap speed by leaning it out up top, and he would have been well into the 100 mph range from the HP gain of a leaner mix, but with the temprature lastnite we were hesitant to add anything more than a couple degree's of timing.

I think the hard part is getting the 5k moving. He's already doing that, should just continue to accelerate after the eighth.

Gives you an idea of what kind of power he's really making. Takes a lot to accelerate something with all that working against you.

Almost every 6.90 Lightning usually runs ~ in the 10.80's in the 1/4.
Most run 20-25 lbs of boost on race tunes. Mine went 6.91 @ 102 on 18lbs with a 1.56 60'. Chris' 60' was much better, but mine had 3* more timing, hence the better trap speed. He still has something left in it. |

Well I can't speak for that much weight but 3600lbs, I run 6.70's (throttle limited) in the 1/8th on motor, and high 10.30's to low 10.40's in the quarter. Oh and I have a slight brick effect, but those trucks are brick squared. Mine doesn't really start running due to the weight, til the 1/8th mile, after the 1/8th she starts rolling good. A truck that heavy is impressive to move like that, thats why I always like driving Mike's truck..

I'd say thats an easy 10. Let the hatters hate.
And outstanding 60. All with stock front wheels. Thats got to be an easy 10th. Last edited by wade w; 04-11-2011 at 07:52 PM. |
