Is #8 injector at the end of the run on the fuel rail for that side? If so, it reminds me of an ass kicker a fellow mechanic friend of mine had. He kept getting misfire codes on the rear two cylinders. He swapped damn near everything he could to other cylinders to see if he could get the misfires to move. It turned out to be the fuel rails were full of junk toward their back ends and starving the rear injectors. Apparently, the fuel filter must have had a breach and let some junk through.

Well, I'm going to swap injectors tonight and try it. If that doesn't work, gonna put stock ECM back in. If that doesn't work, off to the dealer she goes.

What a pain in the ass. I do notice a SMALL (VERY VERY VERY SLIGHT) noise in #8 cylinder upper valvetrain area. Can hear it with stethoscope, but not really hear it with naked ear.

are your coilpacks the built in ignitor type? ony reason i asked is when we went to cop we used the ls2 truck iirc coilpacks which were the strongest offered.. if its not a self ignited coilpack(built in ignitor on the top) i would put a coil blaster/msd+new wires and see if that gives you a little more punch..

other option is if it is built in ignitor. check the dwell time map they may have started playing with a map and bumped a batch and ur dwell is off.. its a shot in the dark but i have seen it happen.

dont they pull timing a bit to help shift the trans? maybe ur tune/shift point was altered and under wot from dead stop its trying to pull timing before it can shift on its own till u let up.?? sorry just ideas off top of my head.
