Default Fuel Cell

Here are some pics of the new fuel cell that Mitch fabricated........Had to do something to catch up with Richard Head and Dkbmxer. This will allow me to run race fuel at a flip of a switch. I'll update when I get the lines run......

Are you going to insulate the wires from the fuel? i.e. cover it more?

Everything you see on the hat assembly is mean't to be submerged...wires,connectors,submersible fuel line etc...lines going out will be braided stainless....

From the pic it just looks like regular wire with female connectors installed is why I asked. One question I have is, Will the race fuel eat away at the zipties overtime?

Nice Progress.........tell Mitch mine is next.

Jr,
I think they are mounting the cell in the bed, so in a matter of minutes the pumps can be out, and inspected.

How are you working the fuel return line? Is there going to be an extra line and valve that work off of the pump switch?

Default Fuel cell

There will be two 3 way valves one for return and one to direct fuel from either tank to to engine. Wires are thhn wire ties are in most fuel tanks from the factory all auto makers submerge crimp and soilder on fittings since the early 1980's. I have never liked it but it works the stock lightning fuel plugs are bare fittings inside a snap plug. The return line has a tube that directs the fuel to within 1/2" from the bottom of the tank to prevent foaming of the fuel. This system will have its own fuel filter which is a mallory canister style, two pumps feed in one line out. We will add pitcures as we go working on nice brackets for the valves switches and rear fuel gauge. Also this design is totally sealed so no fumes will get under that bed cover the vent which has a roll over ball in it, i'm venting it right back into the stock fuel tank and charchol canister system. more fun to follow Mitch

Tanks can be switched by a 3-way valve and a 3-positon switch for the power

Default fuel cell

Well the fuel cell is finished....Mitch finished it yesterday and I have to admit it works nicely It's pretty cool how it works....drive to the track...flip a switch...turn two valves and instant race fuel. Also if I want to "bump up" the fuel in my stock tank..a flick of a switch and turn a valve and I can add C16 straight from the cell
