Default My story from the truck shootout

Well, let me start off by saying, the day was eventful for me to say the least...

Pass# 1 Just MP Boost, I left OK (about normal) and was in it good till the 1/8th mile on a 12* street tune. All of a sudden I kept hearing loud pops and I figured OH S**t and I got out of it, I had a pretty good lead on the GT500 that was in the other lane so I just let off and then tapped the gas at the end to hold him off and get the W.....

I got back to the pits, jumped out and immediately checked for bubbles in the overflow and started pulling plugs to look at them, the guys all said "That wasn't your truck it was the other car" Still I pulled the plugs and almost put it back on the trailer thinking i hurt something.

As you watch the vid below, it was clearly the other car and not my truck......

Pass 2, I just wanted to see if it was screwed, there was nowhere else to test it so I set it to 8* of timing and made a "turtle test pass" It ran fine, sounded good but I was gun shy like a mofo. Mostly because we had 3 trucks there and one trailer so that if one broke we would all turn them down so that at least 2 could drive 5hrs back home. But this run sorta gave me my nuts back since it didn't skip a beat.

Pass 3, I put the nitrous tune in (around 12*), and had all intentions of letting it have a 75 shot all the way down the track, but I chickened out in the lanes and decided not to spray it. Well, I launched and felt 2nd hit then third came in and it was sounding good, so at what I assume was around the 1/8th mile I grabbed the switch and hit it with the juice (fairly easy to tell by the way I picked up MPH after the 1/8th)

The vid (I'm in the close lane)

I Had fun though I feel certain if I would have sprayed the entire pass with the 75 shot it would have went a real low 11 or possibly a 10.9 on that 12* tune.

I would have made more passes but I spent quite a bit of time messing with the other 2 trucks, shaking hands and trying to keep up with my son.

I watched the first vid without reading. Kind of looked like you broke the sound barrier with the camera shake

My son was filming, it wasn't my truck it was the car. I even let off because it scared me and I had a fairly big lead on him.
