Ahh to be 20 and wealthy lol. I've never in my life been able to say budget isn't an issue with anything.

yes single cam, but from my understanding, he picked up a good shortblock a few weeks ago. 600 is no problem for 2v cars with boost.

What's the power level, cars primary use and budget are all you need to ask yourself.

Yes I meant less split between the gears. And depending on ratios its not just the 1-2 split thats closer, all are closer. 2.66 first gear like in an fbody everything is closer, 2.97 first like the old Cobra R its really just 1-2 thats closer.

my 2v was at 13psi, and still a turd. most stock bottom end cars are under 450 and run 12s, built bottom and you can get 600whp but its not as easy as building the bottom and turning up the boost. not like i need to tell you, i'm sure you did your research before ditching the mod motors.

i'm still confused. first gear ratio change ONLY effects the 1-2 gear split, maybe i'm misunderstanding.

A 2.66 first gear gear set comes with different ratios than say a 2.97 gear set. That make sense? Jesus fucking christ youre killing me.

oh you're talking t56 gearsets. I thought you meant in general a taller first made all gear splits lower. I got ya now.

From what it sounds like... you're not going to listen to anyone but heres some trans ratios for you to look at... MMR offers a "900" upgrade for the TKO600 but if you're making that much power you dont need a manual in my opinion...

T-45 3.37 1.99 1.33 1.00 .67
TKO500 3.27 1.97 1.34 1.00 .68
TKO600 2.87 1.89 1.28 1.00 .82/.64
Cobra T-56 2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 .73 .63
T-56 Mag1 2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 .80 .64
T-56 Mag2 2.97 2.10 1.46 1.00 .74 .50

If you do a T-56 you'd be dumb to not get something with a 2.97 first gear

Right it was just misunderstanding that all the talk was specific to t56s where first gear determines the gearset unlike others which could have the same 2-5 but optional 1st gear in which case the taller 1st gear would only effect the 1-2 split nothing else.

LMFAO @ Gears are taller in TX.
