Randy Seward runs in NMRA true street goes 8.40's at 160 mph plus, and talk about crazy gears. He runs a 295/65 drag radial with 3.25 gears in a 9" rearend. Turbos must like the grunt. He has an AOD trans, so I can imagine cruising on the highway at 80mph at 1500rpm.

I had a 5.0. My car is in the shop getting a Big Block with a direct port nitrous system. I am also getting it converted to a tube chassis, ladder bar, powerglide, and full tubbed car (so I can put the flintstone tires on it). Then I am going to run against small block, stock suspension cars on radials.
