There is an article on the vette forum right now where one shop is challening another to see who can get their Z06 from 3,100 down to 2,800 while still keeping it street legal, and full interior. They both have by now spent close to 10k each and are still 100lb short of their goal. Cool thing is; they are posting the results of every part and its weight reduction for all to see!

I apologize, I haven't looked at this post in a few days. I think you will find amazing at what lengths these guys are going through to just save 1 to 2 lbs. in some cases.
