Default Set The Record Straight

I just want to set the record straight. Im sure most of you know that my car was at HHP ans it encountered problems..Well the biggest of them all is that i had 3 broken pistons and the engine had to be torn down and discarded...So,with that im not sure who's fault it is or what may of happened but i am gonna just be done with that situation and not play the blame game with anyone. It is what it is and of course it sucks but it opened my eyes to a new set of problems with the build...With the bottom end down i could clearly see that the pistons have never really fit right. It looks as if they were never really seated at all. Also, the bearings are wiped out in the bottom end completely...It seems the machine shop i used really didnt do the good job i thought they did, because the engine only had 21 passes on it..I thought that it was all checked out just to be sure it was ok but i guess i was wrong.. So really the first time i would have shot it,it would have come apart in a major way. So with that i want to say that there is no hard feelings with anyone and i will have a new "BAD ASS" bottom end delivered this week... So beware as it will be done in a matter of weeks now....I have my sights on another camaro that should be done about he same time....lol

Sucks that the bottom end was trashed. A friend of mine had a similar problem years ago and refused to admit it. He kept messing with the tune on the car and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't run right. We finally convinced him to tear it down to try and find something wrong. 3 broken Probe pistons. Shit happens. It shows a lot to me for you to try and clear things up and not blame anyone that was working on the car. Props to ya man.

Was the engine assembled by a machine shop or an individual engine builder ? The reason I ask is the engine builder is responsible for the fit and putting it together. The machine shop usually deals with machining parts. Whom ever assembles the engine has the last say. If a piston or bearing didn't fit right the assembler should have caught it. Sometimes the mach shop gets a bad rap for the assemblers crap ! Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, the engine builder was the machine shop too. They did it all there and was supposed to be LS dudes,,,,so who knows anymore..Ima just stick with RPM for now. I seem to be getting results so im gonna go with it and see what happens..I guess it will either run good as hell,or blow up really quickly..It will be run to break the cam in,and then its off the the track for some Nitrous passes.I dont even care what it runs on motor so im just gonna start out with n20 passes.. But the shop was up in greer...Damn upstate struck me down!!!! lol
