Default Meth or E85

Wanted to get some opinions on where I should go next. I know both Meth and E85 will get me some more power, but I'm stuck at a crossroad. I already have the fuel setup to go E85 as I'm only seeing about 70-73% IDC around redline pushing 20 psi. I also know it is hard to find around here and since I'm a daily driver it will kill my MPG, and living in Goose Creek I have to drive down by showzone to get fuel or all the way to Moncks Corner. If I go meth I have to buy a new setup and install it and get tuned. Right now with my rich e-mail tune I'm only cutting 8.4 in the 1/8 and I'd like to get closer to 8 flat if not into the 7's. I'm satisfied with my 60' seeing as I can cut 1.8 on a daily driver but I have the itch to be faster and its killing me. Any opinions would be very helpful.

Looking to go E85 or Meth injection soon...

Yup, for a dd I would go meth. I plan on getting a setup as well, they're not too expensive either.

Not trying to be a dick at all, but don't subies run 8.3/4 stock? And yeah, e85 is too spread out for a dd.

sti's, whatever they are. I have ran a few, and my car went 8.4-8.6 on motor consistently, and they were always a close race...and faster than me from a roll. Idk. Just wondering.

My buddies Stage 2 WRX STI pushing 19 psi on his stock turbo was barely cutting 9.4. I walked all over him when we lined up...granted he was still learning to launch the car, but yeah they aren't that fast. I also raced my other buddy in his 07 wrx that has upgraded turbo and EWG and built trans and water/air intercooler setup and he runs about 8.1. His advantage is he can side step his clutch and not worry about breaking his trans where I'm still the stock 5-spd. I tree'd him and ended up winning by .055 cause he cut a 8.2 and I ran a 8.4 but I crossed the line first so still a win.

I'm also on a very very safe tune with AFR around 10.7-10.9 and not a lot of timing which is why I'm trying to find a good tuner to get my AFR and timing where it should be, I'm also only pushing 20 psi on the turbo that will still be about 77% efficient around 26 psi so I have more air to push and plenty of fuel left. Meth sounds like the route I'm going to go, I just figured I'd get some opinions from here about the E85 in the area.

If your already at 75% duty cycle on 93 you wont get any more power going to E85 unless you get a larger injector it takes 25-30% more E85 to make the same power, is E85 is comparable to 105 octane so you can run more timing.

If you run meth on top of what you already have, you will have to back the duty cycle down some because the meth will be adding fuel depending on the size jet you run.

Going meth will take 93 to 105 and as high as 112 octane and will richen the mixture up so your injectors will go farther. It will also drop your IAT's and on that top mount that's worth more than most give it credit. Meth will also be cheaper in the long run than E85

Run meth buy two gallons at Driggers next to ATP. Should last 3-4months on a daily. Add some timing, add some boost and enjoy.

If you run meth, remember that meth has a much lower stoich point than gasoline. If you do not know the actual quantity of meth and the quantity of fuel injected, its better to use lambda than AFR. If you do know the quantity then you can use this equation to calculate the AFR to match your lambda.

[desired lambda*% gasoline in decimal form*14.64]+[desired lambda*%meth*6.4]= AFR

For 20% meth at a 0.8 lambda (11.7) the calculation will be
[0.8*0.8*14.64+0.8*0.2*6.4]=10.4

ive run e85 for about 5000 miles straight now and never had any issues

I do live down in Bluffton and have e85 available about a mile from my house so that helps

if you go e85 i would highly recommend a 93 tune also. Planning roadtrips around e85 stations sucks and ive run into more than a few stations that supposedly had it but were out

my car makes insane power on e85 though. It runs flawless also
