Default stock LS9 twin disk

anyone driven one? how does it compare to other stock clutches? what about aftermarket stuff? Katech sells this kit with a custom flywheel so it'll work with everything else since the LS9 has an extra flywheel bolt. its 8lbs lighter than a LS7 clutch/flywheel package and 800tq holding with "stock engagement"

My monster stg 3 cost half that, with the lighter flywheel. I did have some chatter during the break-in period, but none now.

with the cost of the clutch, there are a lot of good choices to chose from.

I ended up going with the RPS Street twin carbon. Seems to be holding up well.

buying your used one that needs rebuild w/ parts is about the same price as a new LS9X or RPS clutch... its still an option but i'm just seeing if anyone has used it.

I've driven a 2010 Camaro that had a stock LS9 clutch and the Lingenfelter adapter flywheel. Butter smooth.

I may have a line on a brand new take-off LSA clutch, if interested.

Agree. I haven't driven a single that had good capacity that didn't have a crazy stiff pedal or on/off engagement.

Some people like a stiff clutch pedal. I hate it. I guess its mental that to grab it must be stiff, but nowadays thats not always the case.

It's a no-brainer IMO. Sprung hubs, aluminum flywheel/steel ring, rag clutch, dual disc, lighter than LS7, stock engagement, 800RWHP/800TQ, cheaper than any other dual disc................. It's been my choice for my next clutch since it came out.

I've had 'several' different vendor clutches over the years from $800-$1,700 and they were either ON/OFF switches or so damn heavy (McLeod Street Twin) that it was just stupid. The only exception to all of them was the Textralia 0700AB clutch that I put in my wifes T/A. It was like stock too.

the only twin disk i've driven anywhere was an exedy twin in an EVO and that was just moving it around during a photoshoot but i liked the engagement on it.
