Default C5 engine mount brackets

Considering using these while swapping a 5.3 into an rx7. Anyone have a set for cheap, and know for sure that they will bolt to a 5.3?

Thanks in advance.

That's tempting! I think I'm leaning towards an XDS currently. After the review on here and others on the interwebz the 9mm looks really appealing.

Have you held the S&W M&P Shield? I've held both the XDS and Shield. The Shield weighs less and feels better in the hand, for me. The shield is cheaper too.

The shied only comes in 9mm and .40, as opposed the XDS also coming chambered in .45.

Grady's currently has a Shield and XDS so you can compare.

I was dead set on the XDS (in 9mm) until I held the Shield. I've heard everyone say they liked the trigger pull on the XDS better. After dry firing the Shield, I found it's trigger pull was lighter, shorter, and had way less take-up. Maybe it was just the Shield and/or XDS I tried... but I don't see what the rage is over the XDS trigger when compared to the Shield.

I haven't looked too much into the Shield. Got to hold the XDS quite a bit at sharp shooters and try out some conceal holsters and was quite satisfied.

Yup, been itching to get back into something with an lsx based engine, and have always loved the looks of the rx7s. Picked up this roller for a really good deal a couple weeks ago, wheels not included.

Scored a whole 5.3 for a good price also. That's pretty much where I sit. Going to slowly put it together. No big plans yet just want to see how nice/cheap I can make an lsx based rx7 run.

That's Tits.

I just got 98 camaro a month, or so, ago that had shot cam bearings.

I'm trying to find a 5.3 (because they're cheap) to throw in it while I build the LS1 up.

There're tons of 5.3s in GA, NC, and TN on craigslist, ebay, etc, but non being advertised in SC... at least, that I could find.

I guess I'll have to order a pullout from one of the companies on ebay and have it delivered, or check the local pull-parts yards. I don't have time to go picking up motors out of state.

Why dont you buy Zac's 6.0 shortblock and use the LS1 heads and ride for awhile. Your not going to find a better price for motor in the area.

Ron's pull a part in greer had two more 5.3's after I got mine from him. Said all were around the 100k mile mark and all are guaranteed to run. Got mine for 450 and that included all the accessories throttle body to oil pan, had exhaust manifolds and most the wiring too, but was cut where it went into the firewall.

I'd wouldn't mind buying it, but that's just too far for me for now.

also keep me in mind when you start modding =)

I will be in need of a ls1 intake, stock ls1 fbody exhaust manifolds, possibly ls1 oil pan.

They had a show dedicated to swapping LS motors into RX7's a couple of weeks ago on Horsepower TV. I think it was a place called Granny's Performance that sold motor mounts, K member, tranny cross member and all to make the LS a complete bolt in job with no fab work..

Watched that episode and took notes where I needed them. I watch those shows every weekend and was excited to see one of their projects hit so close to home. The Granny's kit is nice but pricey. Engine cradle alone is over 500 dollars. The kit they featured on the show looked to be more like 1500 dollars.

I have found another company similar to Granny's but they use the c5 engine mount brackets and fabricate blocks that bolt to stock subframe to make the two mate up for way less than granny's mounts.

Can't wait for the follow up show where they test that rx7 out. I'm still undecided about what trans to use for mine.

When did you buy that 5.3 from Ron's? Did they already have all of those engines pulled?

Edit... Nevermind.
