Body and interior was in great shape, except for the cheap gauge pods everywhere falling off their mounts. The engine seemed to be in good shape, but the tranny grinded when going into any gears. Like the clutch cable wasn't adjusted right, or someone fucked the clutch install.

And, GODDAMN, I remember clutch cable car's clutch pedals being stiffer, but FUCK. Something was wrong with this one. It took all my strength just to press the clutch in. Even the owner couldn't' press it in well or shift right without grinding gears.

It had a 2.8 pulley on, and the car seemed slower than it should be. My old cammed LS1 Trans Am seemed to faster.

The owners AFR gauge was broke at the time, and I didn't have time to get my scanning equipment or my LM2 hooked up to check out the tune.

The current owner said the previous owner stated it had around 600 HP to the wheels. LOL. Current owner guesses it closer to around 550. Bwhahaa. Guess that should have been my first clue.

That was the first Terminator I ever drove, and it's made me want a Vette, even if it's a C5.

I hope the next Termy I'm going to test out, which seems like an even more beat on one, doesn't have as stiff as a clutch pedal. Here's the next one I got lined up to look at, Higher mileage and more beat up, it seems:

I'm pretty sure thats the car we worked on. It's low on compression if so and doesn't run well. Clutch is hard as hell to use as well.

Thanks. And fuck Charlotte traffic right now. I drove up here to look at the car this morning, bought it, then drove back down to have my bro in law drive me back up to pick the car up.

5 o-clock Charlotte ftl. Not as bad as ATL though.

Key word here is "my". You bought a "CL thpecial-budget-price" C5Z.

Regardless the interior sucks on all of them.

Congrats on the C6!

Congrats on the C6!
i drove it for a weekend and that was enough for me. i would say they are good cars for what they were built for, but not the most enjoyable standard duty vehicle. i wouldnt want a vette as a daily driver.

Thanks all. Potato camera pics are coming. Just need to change the oil and give it a bath.

And thanks for the comparisons and links you all posted, it helped when haggling the price down.

Driving the Vette from Kanapolis, NC to Starr, SC only took a quarter of a tank. Computer estimates 29 MPG average. Those things can allways off 2 MPGs or so in either direction.
