Default Rapid Transit V8 Ranger

Went down this morning and finished up buttoning up the Junkyard Dog. I'm sure some of you have seen me share some of this stuff on FB. Im helping around the shop as I can when im not working at my insurance job and the part store. Got it cranked and fired. Fired up on the first hit of the key. Still have to put the mufflers on but here's an idea. Excuse my redneck accent.

This is an 04 Ranger with the drivetrain from a 97 V8 Explorer. There were some major electrical issues to overcome with this swap. It is MUCH easier to do in the 02 and older trucks but with the help of some guys on the Ranger Station we got it done. Going to use it just to run around, hunt parts, and if we get a lock out, tire change call we can take this instead of the roll back. Other than cleaning up a little bit of the wiring it looks like a factory install. All the dash gauges work properly, ODBII system works like its supposed to also.

I wanted to keep it but its a work truck. We're using it for non tow road calls. We work with 4 roadside assistance companies now for flat tires, lock outs, out of gas. Don't want to have to mess with opening and closing the top all the time if we need to move tires and stuff.

buddy's wife got a flat in a F-150, they have that key plug in the cable/winch assemlbly to lower the spare tire.

the AAA kid could not get it out, she could not.
she ended up under the truck, with his pliers, turning the winch by hand to get it down.

she said she trained this kid how to change a tire that day....

That's pretty sad. I promise we know how to change a tire.
