i really dont understand why someone in this day and age would replace rods and pistons and use a stock stroke crank. especially a chevy engine. torque is a street cars friend young grass hopper. now go cancell your piston order and get a crank and different pistons.

not only does it add cubes but it takes so much weight out. your not slinging around a huge piston

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-C...Q5fAccessories

this is the guy i bought my stuff from. as you can see you can buy a crank cheaper than 1200. K1 is made by carillo and much better quality than my eagle crank

Greg, dont want you to think i'm dogging you. you can drop 5 grand rebuilding a stock engine. by being a carefull shopper you can spend 5 grand and have a 600 hp engine that will put you over 100 mph in the 1/8th.

some day you will say, i should have listened to the old dick with purple car

see, you dont have the pistons and thats the only thing that matters. the rod stays the same in most cases. i'm sure you can buy a crank and off the shelf pistons and have the shit next week.

my heads probably wouldnt do that good on a 4xxci motor i could order a 4in stroke crank for my motor and have a 383 but why spend a grand and gain 20-30hp

what do your heads flow? they looked beautiful in the pics i saw

you are correct to a point but i would rather make max hp at 6k than 7. you dont need to run as much gear, you dont need to run as much converter, you dont need to kill the bearings
