The G8 weights about 500lbs more then a stock mustang.

I agree

It's just I was under the impression that the G8 guy thought he was racing a NA 2v. I haven't read this entire thread so I may have missed it somewhere.

My '05 was 3770# with driver. And that was without an extra hundred pounds or so of supercharger and related parts.

It was weighed on the scale at Route 66 in Joliet, IL

He knew it was a 3v 4.6 on 4.5 psi before the race. He looked under the hood.

I would like to see the race with a 2v gt, he might have an advantage up top.

We went to around 130ish on the 2nd race with the racecraft, he was not catching up and the racecraft had a car on him.

and the curb weight of the stock g8 is a couple lbs under 4k. Add procharger, driver and a couple things in the trunk and it's about 4300lbs.

Subie is a stroked, cammed, forged 2.63 Boxer with a gt45r, built tranny, and a shitty slipping clutch (soon to be fixed)

I didnt bother looking at the sti, nor the stang.

I was in it for fun and to compare. Plus I knew from rumors/talk about the sti.
I knew what I was getting myself into. I didn't expect the result of the way this thread has gone, as I just figured it would turn out to be civil and people be accepting of new members, instead of shuning or well...talking...

Anyhoo, I didnt know about racecraft and saleen thing. I can honestly say I never knew this side of street/grudge racing at all. I am pretty much new to racing in general.

But from what I can tell from speaking to Randy/the people he was with, is hustle till the wheels fall off.

The owner of the racecraft said it was just a body kit/wheels. Im not stupid when it comes to cars, I know quite a bit I feel. I saw the saleen wheels, I dont think many non saleen car owners want saleen wheels, due to getting made fun of for not being OG.

So I asked if it was just like a Roulsh, stage 2 (non blower), he said yeah. I asked to check under the hood, he said maybe.....as in the gig is up. He opened it, and on top of the engine, "Powered by Saleen"

This story isnt to trash talk, but just to let you know....I didnt know this was normal to lie about what you have, it was quite amusing when you're talking to someone and you know they are trying to pull one over on you.

Anyhoo, I only had my car for a few hours when I raced. I think I did rather well, yes, I lost 3:4 races. I had reasons, but its ok, I did lose.

I will race anyone for free, and once I am used to my ride....maybe some money.

I was impressed how well I did.

For only doing 1 thing to my car and it giving 45-50% hp, I think its a worth while investment.

As for the weight, the g8's are pre-4k lbs, tad over for driver.

I have lost a lot of weight due to mufflers/res's being deleted, I am sure it was around 80lbs or so, not much but it helps.

But I guess thats it.

If anyone is interested in seeing my car or taking a ride in it. Just PM me, I am always up at SSS on Saturdays.

Now that I know he lost to that racecraft, I have a little more respect for the G8. If the guy gets a tune on it, he can easily pick up a few mph up top.

The g8's did not come with a spare tire, I dont have anything but cleaning/detailing suplies. I never keep anything in my car.

I am prolly 280lbs or so....

And as I previously said in the post above, I had all the mufflers/res's taken out.....around 80+lbs if I had to guess.....idk for sure though.

Yeah, you don't really know until you sit it on some scales. I would have to guess that with you in it, it would still be around the 4200+lbs range. And that's just a guess, but still a little heavier then any mustang out there.

I dont give 2 shits who won, and not gonna say anything else mean about the g8, but why mention weight in this race? This is the infamous ls vs mustang deal yet again. A 4.6 on 4.5 lbs of boost vs. a 6.0/6.2? on 7 lbs......I think that makes up for the weight.

6.0, the ls3 is saved for the GXP.

idk, I would love to run him again with drier/cooler air. You're more than welcome to go with me too.

It's roll racing that weight isnt the issue yes?

If the dude is willing to, I would love to do 2 dig's, and 2 30 roll's

If it is cool out tomorrow/tonight

Weight was mentioned because it's important. Same reason the C6Z's are stomping the shit out of much higher HP cars, they don't weigh shit. The G8 is at a significant disadvantage because of it's weight, which will make it even more embarrassing when pulls on somebody.

Weight is an issue regardless, it will become more of a problem the higher the speeds get in the race.

Not trying to be a dick but there is no point. You had your "fun runs" already.

If you want a dig race meet me at dorchester and we can do it there for some cash.
