Thats because Parks at least a few years ago, didn't have a pump. They freeze your bottle and cryogenically make the transfer, and typically you cannot completely fill a bottle that way. A pump is needed to get the last pound or so in. I would never get nitrous from someone without a pump..

Yep, I recently went through that, not quit that much but a big difference in price non the less. Also I wasn't allowed to use my own 75 pound cylinders anymore. They wouldn't refill them because they were not certified, so I had to start leasing their cylinders at about $15.00 each per month...

Go to a welding supply company and see if you can get your cylinders certified.... If they have the right valve and pass the visual/Pressure test you should be good......

That is what Airgas National Welders is. They will only fill their own that is certified. Years ago they use to fill the 25 pound bottle for you car, and they don't do that either..

I'm thinking they still don't have a pump. The one time I dropped it off in the morning to fill, they said it would be late afternoon before it would be ready. When I picked it up, the math on the bill equaled 8 lbs. of contents and not 10.

You can get the full 10 lbs. in there using the freezing the bottle method, as that is the way I'm doing it. Actually the first time I filled mine, it was about 3/4 lbs. overcharged according to my refrigerant scale.

My process takes about 3 hours to fill the bottle. It's pretty slow since I'm only using a 1/4' line.

Obviuosly there's no consistancy in their filling methods, or who does the filling either. I hope this boy is experienced in high pressure cylinder handling. One wrong move can cost them their life.

It won't be a problem when the weather is cool. But on a hot day, there is no room for expansion in the bottle. I hope you have a relief valve on your cylinder.

Just because you run 6's on motor dosent mean your fast enough to not need nitrous. Like my brother said. His car runs 6's on motor and we still spray it. All on pump gas and its a very streetable car. You cant put limits on yourself like that. As time goes on the bar gets raised. If you dont keep up with the curve you will get left behind. I can remember when low 7's were stupid fast for a street car. And to tell you the truth high 6's isnt anything special anymore. Not trying to be a smart ass. Its just the way it is.

Hal's got it. I usually fill up in your backyard, but no sense in filling up a bottle that's still full. Hopefully the tune I just loaded to the car is what it needed and I can start driving this turd again......
