Wow, I don't know Jack s$#t about snowmobiles but It sounded like they had clutch or pulley set like pro dragsters or drag bikes. one or the other. Do they normally have transmissions(shift some gears!) or a variable pulley system like my gator?

They are pretty much like a street bike for the snow.

they actually have a centrifical belt clutch setup like Jr dragsters where the belt starts at the inside of the drive pulley and the outside of the driven pulley then as the rpms come up the belt changes position on the pulleys to change the belt ratio. acts as a gearbox and clutch all in one.
