aeromotive fuel pump wiring ?

about to wire up my pro series and didnt know the best way to do it. it is being controlled by a relay that is switched by the PCM for efi. the relay is in a relay center under the dash by the pcm and the pump is toward the rear of the car behind the rear tire. would it be bad to run a power wire from under the dash to the pump in the rear or is that too far of a run? if its ok what size power wire?
