Well.......Swing and a Miss. Installed these JDM Drag springs on red. Uncut and with a 1" spacer on the driver side, within 4 hours they settled to where the truck was resting on bump stops and I couldn't fit my first under the bumper. I wish they held the stance they had when I first installed them, but for the now the old springs are back on... I'm 0-2 for drag springs, did get some pictures though with her low. Also modified the rear shackles to make them longer, dropped the rear another 1".
Looked good, but within a week it would have around 2-3" of ground clearance. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() First Install, later in the day the 20" were inside the wheel well.

I know man, it's a PITA to get these things installed in such a tight area, then to come up to low blows my mind. I'm guessing all my weight is up front, no other way to explain it. I mean the spring was almost complete bottomed out when I remove it with a 1" spacer.

Get some weight out of the front end! Or find some adjustable height spring cups.

Man that trucks does look sweet like that though......To bad nothing seems to be working for you. Any idea of the pound rating on the springs? Perhaps you need a set of springs that are the same length, but with a stronger rating......I know the springs I have on my '70 Mustang are 418 lbs per inch and are 10.50 inches long. Mine, however, are stiff 1" lowering springs..... What I'm trying to say is find out the pound rating of the springs (if it's possible) and find a set that are the same length, but support more weight.

I'd love to have just came up some where in the middle of that, at least I'd still have options. Maybe I try again in a few months, right now i'm completely spring swapped out for a while. I know the other springs I tried was 250lb and 18". These are also 18" and held the truck up better, but seemed like ever 2 hours the truck was sitting lower and lower till it was resting on the bump stops.

Its the difference in the top spring cup and the dish in the LCA, that distance is shorter on a lightning. Its not weight, same reason our shock lengths are shorter.

I thought the same thing and figured he might have to modify the upper spring pocket.

Thing is I have 1" upper space that brings the spring below the seat lip, i'd need. 4" to get the truck level. There's no way I could get that spring in there. The 1" was scary as hell.
